Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in funeral home costs?
The basic services fee, embalming or body preparation, the casket or urn, use of facilities, transportation, and coordination. Cemetery plots, headstones, obituaries, and flowers are separate costs charged by other providers.
Can I pre-plan a funeral to lock in prices?
Yes — pre-need funeral plans let you pay today's prices for future services. This protects your family from funeral inflation (which averages 3.8%/year) and removes a major burden from them at a difficult time.
How do I compare funeral homes?
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must provide an itemised General Price List (GPL) upon request. Always get at least 3 itemised quotes before making a decision. Prices for the same services can vary 2–3× in the same city.
